We Apologize

There have been quite a few things going on the team stemming back before the last post, #BIGDAY, which you can see us hard at work.  Hard at work not only for this project, but our individual participation in other ventures; Team Awesome has more than one focus this semester applying a strain on meeting times and creating blog posts such as this.

Speaking of meeting times I will have the image above say it all on how the attempts to meet online went.  Not only have we had to overcome scheduling obstacles, but technology was not so kind to us  via Google Hangouts in assisting my attempt to contacts Melanie.  In short meetings were not great.

Despite the advancements of technology Team Awesome has been capable of remaining productive through the simple means of text messages/SMS.  It may not be the first tool you run to when you consider collaboration for a project such as www.DSWsAddict.blogspot.com, but we've managed well.  Incorporating humor is a must in all of our interactions.

So I, Edward W Cook, ask you to bear with us for the next week as my team and I will be randomly selected to present the work you see before you on this  blog as well as other material offsite.

Team Awesome, godspeed.

#BIGDAY

Team Awesome, hard at work.
#BiggestDayofOurLives

SHOE-PHORIA !!

Today was a #BigDay for our team. We were able to meet and have an in-depth conversation about one of the key quality management aspects of DSW, "shoe-phoria."  The clever term is representative of the order processing and tracking system, which DSW now relies on to satisfy customer orders with emphasis on quality control.  At this point in time, team-mates, Melanie, Karla, Alejandra, Edward and I are interested in digging deeper to find out just how this "Shoe-phoria" system contributes to customer service.

We've Found Our Order

Despite the fact that today is Columbus Day I wanted to get this bit of information up, brought to my attention by one of the team members, that our order for Competitive Priorities was finalized over a week ago.  Jogging through my memory and the stockpile of emails that I refuse to delete I was able to confirm that this was quite true.
So much for trying to keep everything in your head, Ed...see what I just did?  Any-who, click for more after the break.

Tools Of The Trade

As the Team "Awesome" (per Randy, member) we've found it quite difficult to find time for regular meetings and that "face-time" that deems itself necessary for any group project, despite scale.

I'm currently involved with another project within my Digital Marketing course; the same issues persist within that collective as well when it comes to establishing meetings.

I've experimented with a solution not too long ago via Google+ titled "Google Hangouts", incorporating the common essentials to online media to include but not limit to video, voice, and screen sharing.

From  my experience the interaction and productivity went through just the same as if it was performed face to face.  Parties can consist up to a max of ten individuals which is far more than you will utilize in a group project at a university level, am I to be corrected on that last statement?

I'm looking to implement this into the Team Awesome work flow....see what I just did there?

I'll let you know how it goes, if it goes.

Starting Point

As the site suggests we've decided on Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) as our company of focus.  As far as the many tasks that it will involve to complete our project with DSW we can certainly check off blog creation (still a WIP) and the company of choice.

Alejandra Solis is looking into contributing further to the project by giving the team an opportunity to interview an employee (interviewee TBA) from the  DSW branch  in Watchung, NJ where Alejandra is currently employed.

The team is currently hashing out the details as far as what the competitive priorities will be as well as the primary focus on what chapter(s) we will relate DSW to.
